Helen Mae Mast's Obituary
Helen Mae Mast, 90, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield surrounded by her family.
Helen was born August 5, 1924 in Oakley, Illinois to Elmer Ray and Nellie Faye (Dawley) Hedding. She married Clifford F. Mast on July 28, 1947 in El Reno, OK. He passed away on April 13, 1995. Helen was an avid bingo player, a die hard Chicago Cubs fan, loved bowling, playing fast pitch softball, sewing, knitting, kids and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Steven (Lois) Mast, William (Melanie) Mast and Mary Smith all of Decatur; six grandchildren, Bryon Smith, Kevin Smith, Julie (Lynn) Camfield, Cyndi (Kurt) Grunden, Lesa (Matt) Friesland and Amber Crowder; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Helen Mae Mast will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 23 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
