Helen L. Schwab's Obituary
Helen L. Schwab, 87, of Decatur, died Wednesday November 12, 2003, in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Services celebrating her life will be 10 a.m. Friday November 14, 2003 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery Argenta. Memorials to: Alzheimer's Assoc. or Breast Cancer Research.
Helen was born on December 11, 1915 in Atlanta, IL. the daughter of Edgar Jerome and Cleada Blackburn Smith. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, and was retired from Carson Pirie Scott where she worked as a Sales Clerk for 22 years. Helen married Lynn Roger Schwab on March 12, 1933 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2001.
Surviving is her son, Darrell Sue Schwab of Rockingham N.C.; daughters: Jan Schwab and Peg Jerry Neeley of Decatur; sisters: Hazel Ekiss, Mabel Osborn, Dorothy Huff, and Norma Fisher all of Decatur; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her parents, husband, one brother, and one great grandson preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank the staff at Imboden Creek Living Center for all of their care and concern.
