Henry L. Huff's Obituary
Decatur – Henry L. Huff, Sr., 64, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Henry, also known as “Know Some Stuff Huff,” was born in Laurel, MS, July 11, 1950, the son of Austin Amos, Jr., and Bessie Mae Huff. A member of Jasper Street Church of Christ, Henry worked at ADM, Firestone, as a Chef for Shaw’s Catering, and lastly as a manager for Walmart. He married Ruth M. McClellan on September 12, 2010.
He leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories his wife, Ruth of Decatur; son, Henry L. (Traci) Huff, II of Decatur; step-children: Lamarr McClellan, Rickey McClellan, Shantay Collins, Johnathan Collins, Tracy Harper, Gwen Harper, Sharon Harper, Greg Harper, Arthur Harper, and Steven Harper; 24 grandchildren; siblings: Albert Earl (Gretchen) Amos, Curtis (Melissa) McGinnis, Michael Amos, Henry L. (Taiwana) Amos, Phyllis (Darryl) Foster, Reshawn Neal, Richard (Deborah) Amos, Brent (Della) Amos, Ernestine Cooper, Maxine Watson, Austin (Shelby) Amos, III, and Matthew Watson; special family and friends: Betty Harper, Ruthie Sanders, William “Hank” Huff, Darlene Jones, Eunice Jackson, Emma Matthews, and sister-in-law Claudette McClellan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren: DeMonte Harper and DeMontez Johnson; sister, Rosie Rivera; grandmother, Lucille Huff, and grandfather Doc Huff.
Homegoing services to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Jasper Street Church of Christ. Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
