Henry W Yuetten, Sr.'s Obituary
Henry W. Yuetten, Sr., 88, of Decatur went peacefully in his sleep; the angels came and took him on the smoothest train ride to heaven on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 4:45 pm in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Henry was born on February 19, 1922 in Decatur, IL the son of John B. and Helen M. Burns Yuetten. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the reserves after 22 years of service. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, the VFW, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He attended Millikin University and worked as a Postal Clerk retiring after 30 years of service. He was an avid model train and tractor collector. He married Georgia A. Wildbur on October 16, 1953 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia; son, Henry Yuetten of Decatur; daughters, Michelle Smith James of Decatur; Susan Yuetten of Springfield; Janet Bramer Brian of Decatur; four grandchildren, Dustin Bramer, Allison Krueger, Nicholas Smith, and Joseph Smith; 11 great-grandchildren and expecting one more.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Jr. and Baby Lester, and one sister, Marie Hedenberg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, January 31, 2011 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. James Palakudy as Celebrant. Visitation will be 2- 4:00 pm Sunday with a Vigil Prayer service at 2:00 pm in Moran &Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Spring Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
