Herbert Alexander Bell, 75, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Homegoing service will be 11:00 Saturday August 15, 2009 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Brother Mayo Towels officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Herbert was born on March 18, 1934 in Bowling Green, MO to the union of Ishmen James Bell and Ora B. Hurlson. He was a member of Jasper Street Church of Christ. He retired from Wagner’s Casting after 30 years of work. He was a member and chaplain of Elk’s Lodge #1132. He also attended Stephen Decatur High School
Surviving are his sister, Ethel Armstead of Decatur; daughters, Kathy Lynette Bell of Jackson, TN; Tia Moore of Atlanta, GA Cheryl McGee of Decatur; and Victoria Bell of Hannibal, MO; two grandchildren; nephews, Guy Bell Sr. Bonnie of Fort Madison, IA; William Ray Bell Jr. of Fort Madison, IA; William Lee Bell Margaret of Savannah, GA; Norman Bell of Fort Madison, IA; and nieces, Nita Rice Claude of Fort Madison, IA; Linda Bell of Phoenix, AZ; Diane Bell of Decatur; Sheila Murray of St. Louis, MO; Danielle Murray of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, William, Harry, Norman, and Wallace Bell and one sister Emily Mae Bell.
