Howard Dean Wallace's Obituary
Decatur-Howard Dean Wallace, 89, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Hickory Point Christian Village.
Howard was born May 29, 1928 in Toledo, Illinois, the son of Merle and Marie (Schultz) Wallace. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Howard was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and secretary of the Wagner’s Credit Union. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He worked at Wagner Castings Company retiring after thirty-five years of service. He then worked for seventeen years at Kohls and then another ten years at Decatur Wilbert. Howard married Arlene Trolia August 27, 1949.
Howard leaves behind his wife Arlene, children Roger (Denice) Wallace, Suzanne (Steve) Youngblood, Marcia Wallace, and Mary Beth (Mark) Glasson, brother Dallas Wallace, grandchildren Heidi (Matthew) Spann, Sarah (Ernie) Fulford, Andrew (Beth) Youngblood, Malori (Colby) Horton, Mason Frakes, and Myles Frakes, and ten great-grandchildren.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hickory Point Christian Village for all of their loving care and support.
Services to celebrate Howard’s life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Faith Baptist Church, 875 W. Grove Road Decatur, with Pastor Brian Minott officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM prior to the services. Burial will be North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Faith Baptist Church.
