Ida Gentry's Obituary
Decatur ' Ida Gentry, 96, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in her home with her family at her side.
Ida was born on May 28, 1916 in Flippin, KY the daughter of Sam and Liza (Glover) Marsh. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and loved feeding the little children in preschool and Kindergarten. She married Thomas H. Gentry on August 13, 1933 in Flippin, KY. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1966.
Ida leaves behind her son, Lawrence E. Gentry (Linda) of Decatur; daughter, Donna Gentry of Decatur; Mildred L. Cole (Dean) of Mt. Zion; sister, Fanny Ryherd of Lexington, KY; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Lonnie Gentry and James C. Gentry, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Service to celebrate Ida's life will be10 AM Monday, July 23, 2012 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Thompson officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund or Bus Ministry.
