Imogene L. Getzendanner's Obituary
Imogene L. Getzendanner, 81, of Forsyth, died Friday, July 20, 2007, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Imogene was born August 24, 1925, in Tilden, IL, the daughter of John and Freida Ulrich Fulton. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Decatur and worked as a teacher in Pleasant Plains, Divernon, and Altamont. Imogene married James A. Getzendanner on June 18, 1950 in Springfield.
Surviving are her husband, Jim of Forsyth; daughters: Candace Michael Poe and Karen Matthew Yepsen all of Decatur; son, Kevin Marlene Getzendanner of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Matthew, Megan and Molly Poe, Andy Getzendanner, Sarah and Will Yepsen; great grandson, Ryan Poe; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and B.J. Fulton.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in First Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, 204 W. Prairie Ave, Decatur, Illinois 62523 or American Cancer Society.
