Isabell Huckabee Harris' Obituary
Isabell Huckabee Harris, 94, of Decatur, passed away at 1:30 am Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Heartland Nursing Home.
Isabell was born April 1, 1914, in Texarkana, AR. the daughter of Robert Leroy and Mollie Huckabee. Being an identical twin brought many experiences into her life. She married Jack E. Harris March 14, 1935 In Texarkana. They shared over 50 years together before he passed way Jan. 31, 1994. In the early part of their marriage they managed a cleaning pressing shop owned by her mother. After moving to Decatur she devoted her time to her family and her favorite activities, crocheting and sewing clothes for her 2 daughters. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Isabell and Jack were avid campers and were members of the Stay-Rolling Camping Club.
She is survived by her daughters: Patricia A. Weaver and Jo A. Paul Durchholz; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Alicia Parker; many nieces and nephews.
Isabell was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sister, Maydell; brother, Ernest Parker and two great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be 11 am Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials: Good Samaritan Fund of Central United Methodist Church or Heartland Nursing Home.
The family of Isabell Harris is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
