Ivan Leo Finfrock, Jr. 73, of Decatur, died on Tues. Jan. 4, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life will be 1 p.m. Sat. Jan. 8, 2005 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Fri. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where a vigil prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Church or Cancer Care Specialists.
Ivan was born on Oct. 23, 1931 in Decatur, the son of Ivan Leo and Cecelia Pryczynski Finfrock, Sr. He worked as a pipe fitter at A.E. Staley before his retirement on Sept. 1, 1992. Ivan was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Very Rev. Jeremiah J. Murphy Assembly #211 and Knights of Columbus Council #577. He married Margaret M. McEvoy in 1951 and she survives.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret of Decatur; sons: Michael Leo Finfrock of Decatur; Patrick Lynn wife, Theresa Finfrock of McHenry; Danny Lee wife, Candy Finfrock of Columbus, OH; daughter, Rebecca husband, David Patterson of Decatur; sister, Norma husband, Jerry Hanson of Texas; grandchildren: Jennifer, Sara, Alicia, Joshua, Gwynne, Claire, Ben, Audrey and Ava; step granddaughter, Abigail; great grandson, Brenden; step great grandchildren: Cory and Chrysten; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, several cousins and friends.
His parents; brother, Phillip and sister, Dorothy Smith preceded him in death.
Ivan was a good man and was loved by many. We would like to thank all the physicians, I.C.U., Respiratory Therapy, 6th floor and the rest of the staff at St. Mary's Hospital for the great care and compassion. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughtfulness from friends and families. Old Pa is flying with the angels.
