J. Viola DePeugh's Obituary
J. Viola DePeugh, 85, of Decatur, died on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 in her home.
Services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Thurs. Dec. 15, 2005 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield, IL. Memorials may be given to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
Mrs. DePeugh was born on Apr. 14, 1920 in Edwards Station, the daughter of Anna Perry. She was a member of the Methodist faith and during WWII Viola worked as a machinist at Caterpillar in Peoria. She then worked in housekeeping at the Woodland Nursing Home in Mt. Zion before retiring in 1982. Viola married Forrest J. DePeugh on Oct. 6, 1945 in Elmwood Illinois.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Forrest of Decatur; sons: Forrest J. Sue DePeugh, Jr. of Decatur; Paul E. Edna DePeugh of Decatur; daughter, Sara N. Danny Carpenter of Old Hickory, TN; brother, Earl Loretta Nash of Atwood; grandchildren: Jimmy DePeugh of McLeansboro; Timothy DePeugh of Tokyo, Japan; Bryan Carpenter and Aimee Carpenter both of Old Hickory, TN; daughter like niece, Judy Norman Hayden of Owensboro, KY; step-sister, Donna Henry Wright of Jacksonville; step-grandchildren: John Wiseman, Sheryl Curry, Lance Wiseman and 9 great grandchildren.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Judith Ann DePeugh in 1950.
