James V. Allen's Obituary
James V. Allen Jr., 53, entered into internal peace in his home on Sunday, November 24, 2013.
James was born June 5, 1960 to James V Allen Sr. and Dollie Mae Allen of Brownsville, TN. he was the oldest of four children.
James was a loving father, brother, son, grandfather and friend to many. He loved watching his westerns, going fishing, spending time with friends and family and going to church.
James worked for Revere Ware in Clinton, IL until they closed in 1999. After that he then decided to do construction and worked for Aramark Food Services. The faculty, staff, and children adored him he was a seven year veteran of the United States Army and was the greatest father his children could ask for.
He leaves to cherish those memories to his parents, sons, Terrell Eubanks of Decatur, IL; Durell Morton (LaKeisha) of Brownsville, TN; and with the union of 25 plus years with Lula Robinson came VaShonda Allen and two sisters, Melinda Thomas of the Decatur, IL and Stephanie (Traveon) Ward of Granite City, IL; his brothers, Donnell Allen (Charlotte), Michael Allen (Hattie) of Jackson TN; and sister, Brenda (Willie T) Adams of Brownsville TN; 14 grandchildren; special friends, Marilyn Hall, Brian Greene, Thomas Freeman, Fred McBride, Jimmy Boatman, John Boatman, Jonathan Hall; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be 12 Noon Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Jasper Street Church of Christ with Br. Mayo Towles officiating. Visitation will be 10AM – 12 Noon in the Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard and conclude with the “Flight Home” ceremony.
