James Orville Cole's Obituary
Decatur- James O. Cole, 88, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate the Life of James will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 in the chapel at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be directed to McKinley Court Activity Department.
James was born May 28, 1923 in Vandalia, Illinois the son of Aaron and Mary Lucas Cole. James proudly served his country in the Air Corp during WWII as a radio repair specialist. He later retired from Decatur Memorial Hospital Engineering Department in 1988 after 33 years of service. James was a long standing member of the VFW Post 99, and was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was married to Gale Viola Binkley Cole she preceded him in death January 13, 2001.
He is survived by his daughter; Dana Stull of Decatur, son; William E. Cole of Decatur, step-son Claude Rambo Jr of Decatur, and step-daughter; Judy Bricker of Mt. Zion, grandchildren; Claude Rambo III, Ronald Wade Jr, Bradley Hastings, and Adam Cole, and six great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one brother Ray.
