James Everett Gentry, Sr.'s Obituary
James Everett Gentry, Sr. 80, of Decatur died on Friday February 21, 2003.
Funeral Services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2003 in J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 P.M. Monday. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek.
James was born in Decatur on June 30, 1922 the son of Grover Cleveland and Ada England Gentry. He worked as a millwright for 37 years at A.E. Staley Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1983. James proudly served our country in the Army-Air Corp during WWII. He married Opal Louise Clark on March 17, 1945 in Decatur, and she preceded him in death on July 04,1966.
Surviving are his sons, Jim Gentry Diana of Decatur, Mike Gentry Kathy of Oakley, Tom Gentry Debbie of Springfield; sister, Annie Webb of Decatur; nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
His parents, wife, four sisters, and four brothers preceded him in death.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shackelford and the entire staff at Fair Havens Nursing Home, especially Pat Adamson, for all of their care and concern.
