James "Doc" Golladay's Obituary
Decatur – James “Doc” Leroy Golladay, 81, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016.
James was born September 17, 1934, in Coles County, the eldest son of ten children of James W. and Lillie (Hayes) Golladay. He married Nancy E. Burks on June 27, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1995, but they are now reunited in their Heavenly home. James retired from the Boilermaker’s Local 363 out of Belleville, IL. When he wasn’t working, James enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
James is survived by his sons: James “Golly” (Shelley), Randy (Bobbi Jo), Rick (Dee Dee), and Kevin (Connie) all of Decatur; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. James is also survived by his siblings: Patricia Nihiser of Decatur, Larry of Mt. Juliet, TN, Bill (Pat) of Ashmore, Sharon Johns of Charleston, Carol Brownlee of Latham, Ron (Jane) of Charleston and Janet Ferguson of Charleston; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by his son Stephen, sister, Lois and brother, Raymond.
Funeral services to celebrate James’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Point Pleasant Cemetery.
