To Jim's children, It is not often that our children know what kind of father they had in respect to people he worked with, especially of fathers who worked for a large impersonal company, like CAT. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing your dad for a number of years! What a nice guy. A good, honest, and friendly guy. We had many conversations over the years, and if we ran into each other after he retired,(usually in So. Shores somewhere), we had more chats. He always called me 'Red", though I know he knew my name and NO ONE else ever called me that. Although we were not close friends….we were always friends! I am sure you will miss him! Jim was my Dads (Joe Perryman) best friend from an early age. I had the privilege of meeting Jim and most of the family several times when I still lived in Peoria. From the stories my Dad shared and meeting Jim in person, I know he was a very good man. I can't tell you how much it meant to my Dad when Jim got to visit him earlier this year.
