James A. "Jim" Manners Jr.'s Obituary
Jim was born on December 31, 1942, in Decatur a son of James A and Bess Bacopulos Manners. As a graduate of Millikin University with a bachelor’s degree in finance; Jim worked as a purchaser at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before he retired in January of 1998. Jim was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and St. Louis Cardinal Fan. He married Judy L. Colvin on May 26, 1988 in St. Louis, MO. in front of the Stan Musial Statue at Busch Stadium.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Judy of Forsyth; son, Todd Manners of Garland, Texas; daughter, Laura Dolan, husband Fred of Marlboro, Mass.; sister: Debbie Manners Livingston, husband Stan and nephews Stan and Jarrod of Forsyth; grandchildren: Megan, Jami, Eric, Charlie, and Trent; Aunt Blossom Bacopulos of Phoenix, AZ.; Aunt Barbara Bacopulos Jay and family of Phoenix, AZ.; Uncle Ted Monanteras and family of Merrillville, IN.; Uncle George Bacopulos of Temecula, California; and many, many friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wade and his entire staff at Cancer Care Specialists for their care and devotion to Jim.
Jim was a loving and caring man, who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
