James Oliver Lambert's Obituary
James Oliver Lambert, 83, of Lincoln, formerly of Hardinsburg, IN, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 in Maple Ridge Nursing Home, Lincoln, IL.
Mr. Oliver was born February 6, 1925 in Cumberland Gap, TN, the son of Oliver Bart and Ella Mae Hopper Lambert. A U.S. Navy Veteran, James worked as farmer and building contractor for several years. He was a member of Kay’s Chapel Methodist Church, Hardinsburg, IN, and Blue River Masonic Lodge #457. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Farm Bureau. He married Sarah Lucille Duggin November 6, 1949.
Surviving is his wife, Sarah; daughters: Alice Jacqueline Richard Goldbeck, Debra Joan Kevin DuBois and Judith Carol Walezak; sisters: Louise Stucker of New Albany, IN, and Sue Henderix of Scottsburg, IN; brothers: John of Alcoa, TN; Robert and Kenneth of Marengo, IN, Roy of Paoli, IN, Billy of New Salsbury, IN, and Jerry of Hardinsburg, IN; daughter-in-law, Pam Lambert; eleven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jewel Owen Lambert and sister, Peggy Wright.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg, IN, with funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Burial with military rites will be in Kay’s Chapel Cemetery.
