James Morrison's Obituary
James “Jim” Kenneth Morrison, 69, of Decatur, IL passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
Jim was born March 13, 1949 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dr. John and Edna (Carron) Morrison. Jim was a veteran of the USMC, serving in Vietnam. He married Kathryn “Kathy” Pfile on August 21, 1971 in Decatur, IL.
Jim served as a sales manager with area car dealers including Northtown Ford and Jim Xamis Ford. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed feeding animals. He also found joy working on others’ homes and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jim will be remembered by many for his great sense of humor and his dedication to helping others.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy; children, Shawn White (Denny) of Crestwood, MO, Jason Morrison (Megan Dial) of Bloomington, IL, Jeffrey Morrison of Jacksonville, FL, Justin Morrison of Decatur, IL; siblings, John Morrison (Sandy) of Pittsburgh, PA, Karen Ford of Gig Harbor, WA, Jerry Morrison (Kathryn) of Decatur, IL, Joel Morrison (Jeanne) of Prescott Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Mason White, Madigan White, Makoy White, Macallan White of Crestwood, MO, Zander Morrison, Lilly Morrison of Bloomington, IL, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
