James R. May's Obituary
James R. May, 79, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Vibra Health Care Hospital in Springfield.
James was born on October 30, 1934 in Greenville, AL to the union of Robert and Beth Esther (Grace) May. He was retired from CVQ and Wagoner’s Castings. He married Beatrice Taylor in 1954.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Beatrice; sons, Keith May (Mary) of Decatur; Wayne May of Decatur; daughter, Deborah May of Decatur; brothers, Bobby C. May of Rochester, NY; John E. May of Georgiana, AL; sisters, Gladys Harris (Roosevelt) of Decatur; Lily Crittenden (Arthur) of Rochester, NY; Eular Mack of Greenville, AL; Beulah Cook (George) of Greenville, AL; Ella F. May of Greenville, AL; 20 grandchildren including Faye Fenderson (Curt) and Lanston May and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Fannie May, son James Robert May Jr., daughter Faye Anette May, brother Willie May, and sister Joy Bell McCaskill.
Homegoing Celebration will be 12 Noon Friday, February 7, 2014 in Life Changer’s Church, 1305 E Prairie St, Decatur, IL 62521 with Bishop G.E. Livingston officiating. Visitation will be 11AM -12 Noon Friday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
