James E. Sattley's Obituary
James E. Sattley 86 of Decatur died Thursday April 29, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Private graveside services were held Monday May 3, 2004 in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is in-charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made to the family at www.moranandgoebel.com.
James was born on August 30, 1917 in Decatur the son of Robert and Bella Oder Sattley.
He was retired from the City of Decatur Streets Department. He was a US Navy and US Army Veteran, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was also a Pearl Harbor survivor. He married Dorothy J. Uhles in Decatur she survives.
Surviving are his wife, daughter, Barbara Heldebrandt and husband Carl of Nokomis; grandsons, Scott Heldebrandt and wife Lisa of Nokomis; Carl Heldebrandt and wife Shawna of Palestine; and Shawn Heldebrandt and wife Cathy of Tulsa, OK; and eight great-grandchildren.
His parents, one brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.
