James G. Jim Seman 88 of Decatur passed away Saturday December 04, 2004 in the home of his daughter in Mt. Zion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday December 07, 2004 in Saint James Catholic Church with Rev. Father James O’Shea celebrating, visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek Township. Jim was born on January 03, 1916 in Coalton, IL the son of Frank and Elizabeth Czervanak Seman. He married Rowena Babcock on June 24, 1939 in Saint Charles, MO. She preceded him in death on December 25, 1997.
He was a member of Saint James Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #577, Rev. Jeremiah Murphy Assembly. He was a boilermaker for the Wabash Railroad and later worked and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1977.
He is survived by his daughter, Agnes Compton and husband Archie of Mt. Zion; sons, James J. and wife Bonnie of Tylertown, MS; Stephen and wife Sharon of Decatur; sister, Theresa Benner of Decatur; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and six sisters.
