James Earl Taylor, 51, of Brownsville, TN, passed from this life Friday, May 19, 2023, in Decatur, IL.
James was born May 21, 1971, in Brownsville, TN, the son of Sherlene (Taylor) Goodman and Earl T. Singleton. He accepted Christ at an early age around 12 years old. James loved the Lord. James worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Big Lots, and Bob Evans Restaurant in the past. Recently, James loved to detail vehicles and do vehicle maintenance which is something his stepfather Lee showed him how to do. James was good at being a handyman, such as painting, decorating, plumbing, maintenance, etc. James was a jokester; he always had a funny story to share with you! James loved flowers! James liked to have fun and enjoy life. If James could help you, he would! James was well known for his sense of humor!
Left not to mourn, but to cherish fond memories are his daughter Jasma Sherrea Taylor, of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Jaylen Mykhel Strayhorn, Jaleah My’lei Strayhorn, and Jordyn Leiann Mcclain, of Nashville, TN; brothers: Lemark Goodman and Arbert Goodman, both of Decatur, IL; special friend Martha Flagg of Decatur, IL. Bonus children: Jimeka, Isaiah, Shinique, and Shatara and several bonus grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
James was preceded in death by his mother Sherlene Goodman, dad Earl T. Singleton, stepfather Lee Goodman, maternal grandparents Emma Sue Taylor and Joe Taylor, and aunt Mary Boyd.
