James Edward Wrigley's Obituary
Decatur –James Edward Wrigley, 67, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, in his home.
Jim was born on November 28, 1958, to Donald and Marilyn (Adams) Wrigley. He married the love of his life, Vicki Ferguson, on November 25, 1989, in Decatur, Illinois.
Jim graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1976 and from Millikin University with his Bachelor's in Accounting in 1980. He worked as an accountant for various manufacturing plants around central Illinois and was the controller for Koehl Bros for the last 10 years of his life. Jim was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served as the Board Treasurer for Macon Resources Inc. He was a proud Irishman and honored his heritage by organizing the Decatur St. Patrick's Day Parade for the past 20+ years with his close friends and family. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, and was a proud shareholder.
Above all else, Jim was a proud family man. He cherished time well spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews.
Remaining to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Vicki, children: Conor (Madison) and Kathleen Pletsch (Austin); grandchildren: Samuel, Beau, Maeve, Luke, and Evelynn; sisters: Patti, Cathy (Marvin), and Mary (John); brothers: Tim, Tom (Connie), Danny (Teresa), Kenny (Mary Jo), and Brian (Julie); sister-in-law: Sue Krause; brother-in-law: David Ferguson (Jean); and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, special uncle and aunt, Tommy and Verle Fitzgerald, parents, stepfather Jerome Frank, and father in law and mother in law, David and Barbara Ferguson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial to follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jim's memory may be directed to Ss. James and Patrick Parish, St. Patrick's School, or Macon Resources Inc.
