James Earl Young's Obituary
James Earl Young, age 71, of Decatur, was called home on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
James was born April 17, 1948, in Marvell, Arkansas to David L. Houston, Sr. and Anniemae Young. He was raised by his grandmother, Beatrice Young. He was a laborer for Local Union 159. He married Avery Eubetta Waddy on June 2, 1973 in Pulaski, IL
He is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Young and Princess Young (Terry) Wilson; his grandchildren, Alexandria Young, Dominique Young, Cameron Young, Doniquea Luter, Shaterrica Young and James Freeman; one great-granddaughter, Cameria Young; two brothers, David D. (Regina) Houston, Jr. and Gig (Tywana) Houston; two sisters, Annette Bane and Moniquie Huzzie; his aunt, Raynell Young; sister-in law, Robbie Waddy; his former wife, Avery Young; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Anita Houston and his uncle, Norris Young.
Homegoing services to celebrate the life of James Young will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
