Janet Dougherty's Obituary
Janet Dougherty, 82, passed away on Saturday morning, July 22, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Jan was born on January 6, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, FL to John and Ellen Elizabeth Haws. She worked at DMH with the Junior Auxiliary and later at K’s Merchandise Corporate Office as their receptionist. She also loved volunteering at the DMH Thrift Shop.
Surviving are her daughters, Rita Boyd (Mike) and Angela Grosshans (Russell); grandchildren, Trisha Lee Thompson (Grant), Matt Lee (Danelle Fields), Zack Boyd (Courtney) Layna Boyd (Mike Stark), Adam Jackson (Darion Wilson), and Aaron Jackson; great-grandchildren, Emmersyn Thompson, Addeline Thompson, Ryker Fields, and baby girl Boyd due in September 2017.
She loved her family, sunflowers, Tom Jones, Elvis, and her puppies, Jasper and Bella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her favorite aunt Katie Parton, her beloved son Mike Rogers.
Graveside Service to celebrate Jan’s life will be 11 AM Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the DMH Thrift Shop.
