Janie L. Wallis' Obituary
Janie L. Wallis, 60, of Decatur, died on Saturday, July 29, 2006 in Decatur Memorial Hospital after a 13 month battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be 9:30 am Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 in Union Cemetery, Oreana. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Monday, July 31, 2006 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
Janie was born on Nov. 22, 1945 in Long Beach, CA the daughter of Betty Streight Gentry. She was a homemaker and played the drums for twenty years for the Country Generation Band. Janie married Stanley Wallis on April 22, 1961 in Waterloo, IL.
Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Stanley of Decatur; sons: Tim Carla Wallis of Warrensburg and Tony Colette Wallis of Sullivan; daughter, Tawnya Tony Jackson of Warrensburg; mother, Betty Gentry of Decatur; brothers: Mike Shelly Gentry and Randy Denise Gentry all of Decatur; sister, Kathy Fred Born of Decatur; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; shopping partner, Beverly Mitchell of Decatur.
Janie was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Le.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Estrada and the entire staff at Cancer Care for their care and concern shown to Janie and her family during her illness.
