Jaquilla R. Pirtle's Obituary
Decatur-Jaquilla Renea Pirtle, 37, departed this life with her family by her side on Saturday, March 4th, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Jaquilla was born February 8th, 1986, in Decatur, IL. She was the first-born daughter of John F. Boatman and Emma J. Pirtle. She was member of Church of the Living God CWFF Temple #46, where was accepted Christ a young age. Jaquilla continued her education at Richland Community College where she received an associate’s degree in Health Information Technology. She spent 8 years working in various departments at St. Mary’s Hospital with the most recent being in billing and coding.
Left to cherish her fond memories are her children: Jaydyn Mitchell and Jordyn Mitchell of Decatur; adored niece Journii Pirtle of St. Louis, MO; mother Emma J. Pirtle of Decatur, IL, father John F. Boatman of Decatur; grandmothers, Rose Deberry and Juanita Boatman of Decatur, IL; siblings, Janay (Donyell) Covington of St. Louis, MO, Jacklynn (Trevon) Sylvester of Springfield, IL and Jacy Boatman of Decatur; aunts and uncles, James (Mychele) Boatman, Junetta (Maurice) Taylor of Decatur, IL, Javiana Smith of Baton Rouge, LA, Janice (Anthony) Watkins of Whiteville, TN, Lisa Henderson of Bolivar, TN, Regina Williams of Bolivar, TN, Lashelia (Tracy) Sain of Middleton, TN, Eric (Gloria) Coble of Bolivar, TN, Marvin (Darnella) Coble of Columbus, OH.
Jaquilla was preceded in death by her aunt and friend Jaquise “Starr” Boatman, grandparents: Jerry and Louise Williams, James Boatman, and a host of aunts.
Visitation and service will be held at Church of the Living God CWFF Temple #46 Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10:00am until the service time of 11:00am, repast to follow at the same location. She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery.
