Jeanette Frances Gibbons, 70, of Decatur, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 in her home.
Jeanette was born May 5, 1938, in Morris, the daughter of John and Lydia Ganz Fencel. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and co-owner of G & W Ceramics. Jeanette loved to do crafts, especially ceramics and embroidery. She married Samuel Edward Gibbons on April 11, 1959 in Seneca, IL.
Surviving are her husband, Sam of Decatur; children: Byron Susan Gibbons of Alturas, CA, Annette Dan Clow of Decatur, Cheryl Hansueli Ryser of Durango, CO, Duane Dawn Gibbons and Errin Jennifer Gibbons of Decatur, Felicia Marshall Haslem of Durham, CA, Gordon Lorianne Gibbons of Paradise, CA, and Loren Danielle Gibbons of Durango, CO; thirteen grandchildren; brother, John Rosemary Fencel of Ottawa, IL; sisters: Linda Earl DeVine of Seneca and Shirley Sam Harshbarger of Oquawka, IL; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Roxanne and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service: 9 am Thursday, July 10, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Burial: St. Isidore Cemetery, Bethany. Memorials: Diabetes Association or donor’s choice.
