Jeanne A. Letner's Obituary
Decatur-Jeanne A. Letner, 78, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 in her home with her family by her side.
Jeanne was born July 14, 1938 in Litchfield, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Simon) Schmidt. She was employed as a business developer with Blank Wesselink Cook & Associates retiring after thirty-nine years of service. Jeanne was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Parrish and was a volunteer at St. James Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Hospital. She enjoyed traveling. Jeanne married Bill Letner July 21, 1956 at St. James Catholic Church in Decatur. He preceded her in death December 6, 2011.
Jeanne is survived by her son Alan Letner of Springfield, daughters Laura Letner of Decatur and Paula Sanders of Minneapolis, Minnesota, three grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother William Schmidt.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jeanne’s life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, 742 E. Clay St., with Father John Burnette, celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the M ass at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
