Jeanne M. Tyrolt's Obituary
Decatur – Jeanne Tyrolt, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 23, 2018.
She was born the fifth of six daughters June 12, 1932 in Riverside, Illinois to Cosimo and Lucille (Anderson) Sansone. She graduated from Proviso East High School in 1950 and married Frank Tyrolt in 1956. Together they raised seven children. Jeanne was active in the community, tutoring at St. James School and volunteering for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed years of playing tennis with her regular group. She delighted in the beautiful scenery and climate of Arizona. She relished singing in the St. Patrick choir followed by fellowship over a meal with dear friends.
Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she cherished time with them and hearing about their activities. Even when dementia diminished some of her faculties, loving engagement with her kids and grandkids remained. As Jeanne’s life simplified, companionship of family and friends, birds on her bird feeders, music, and desserts would bring a bright smile and a wink.
Jeanne is survived by her sisters Eileen Matiya and Lucille (Bill) Mahler; her children Sue Montague, Nan Tyrolt, Catherine Allen, Lois Boyd, Jim Tyrolt, Gail (Vince) Mish, and David (Alissa) Tyrolt; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service will be at 3:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 28, at 11:30 am, at St. Patrick Church, followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jeanne’s name to Saints Patrick and James Parish, Hickory Point Christian Village, or the American Red Cross.
Our family wishes to thank her team of caregivers and the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village. We are grateful for their loving care and compassion.
