Genene Jeannie Wood's Obituary
Genene Jeannie Wood, 56, of Decatur, passed into eternal life at 12:54 pm Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family.
Jeannie was born June 2, 1951, in Ottawa, IL. the daughter of Van Franklin Aldrich, Sr. and Eva Louise Sampson Aldrich-Wimberly. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Jeannie was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed crafts and woodworking. She married Donald Gene Wood in 1995.
Surviving are her loving husband, Don; daughters: Amy L. Brown of Dunedin, FL; Shelli Alan Johnston of Decatur and Darlene John Brazelton of Mahomet; grandchildren: Chris and Quinn Johnston of Decatur and Sara Seguire; loving mother, Eva Aldrich-Wimberly of Centralia; sisters: Linda Robert Stewart of Mt. Zion and Kathleen Douglas Cummings of Decatur; brothers: Terry Aldrich of Decatur and Jeff Aldrich of Centralia; special step-granddaughter, Arnie Wood of Decatur; dear friends: Mike & Karen Buckley and Kathy Robb of Decatur; many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children and step-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her father; step-father, Bennie Wimberly and brother, Van Franklin Aldrich, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11 am. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park.
