Jeffrey Paul Glosser's Obituary
Decatur-Jeffrey Glosser, 57, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013.
Jeff was born April 2, 1955 in Decatur, the son of Shirley (Field) Glosser. He was employed with Mason Fabrication. He was a member of the Decatur Athletic Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He assisted in coaching his daughter's tennis and softball teams at St. Teresa. He was a family man that loved spending time with his daughter and wife. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, singer, and pianist. He also loved his classic BMW motorcycle. He married Carol Chew September 29, 1990.
He leaves behind his wife Carol, daughter Claire, mother Shirley of Decatur, brothers Doug Glosser and Goldie of Springfield, identical twin Phillip Glosser and wife Pamela of Mt. Zion, and James Glosser and wife Vicki of Plymouth, MN, sister Margaret Ethington and husband Prentice of Oro Valley, AZ, nieces Morgan Glosser, Lindsey Ethington, nephews Ryan, Logan, Eric, and Evan Glosser, and Jack Diamond, sisters-in-law Debbie Diamond and husband Paul of Chicago and Linda Schutte of Decatur, and his beloved dogs Holly and Ivy.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Frank Chew, Jr. and brother-in-law Tom Schutte.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jeff's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3850 Lourdes Dr. Decatur, with Rev. Rick Weltin Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at the church. Entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Claire's education in c/o Carol Glosser, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, or St. Teresa High School.
