Jeffrey L. Lane's Obituary
Jeffrey L. “Paco” Lane, 54, of Decatur, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital due to complications from esophageal cancer caused by smoking.
Born March 13, 1957 in Decatur the son of Aubrey and Betty Hettinger Lane, Jeff worked in construction and was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother, Betty of Decatur; sisters: Joni Klepzig and Janet Creamer of Decatur; nieces: Janice Peeler and her daughter Jasmine of Effingham, Jennifer Klepzig and Sophia Creamer of Decatur; nephews: Jeffrey Klepzig and Dallas Creamer of Decatur; aunts: Dottie Glenn Heiserman of Lakewood and Debbie Hettinger of Lovington; special friends: John, D.J. and Gail Alleman, Cindy Nelson, Phil Wickline; and Dr. Wade and his staff at the Decatur Cancer Care Center.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father Aubrey; grandparents: Lowell and Dorothy Hettinger.
Graveside Services to celebrate his life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Point Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Immediately after the service, family and friends are invited to Fort Daniels State Park for fellowship and a celebration of Jeff’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
