Melissa, My mom called me this morning with the sad news of the loss of your precious, always hard-working devoted husband and terrific father. J.D. was my mother's pride and joy. He not only gave her great joy as a friend, and handyman, but a beautiful yard and home as well. If you visit my mother's Decatur home, you can see his artwork in the wooden stairs and trellis he built and the fence he put up in her yard. He was always there for her and was he was even there four days straight when she packed to move to California two years ago. Thank God she got to see him when he visited San Diego a while back. He made a special trip to come see her, and as always thought of others before himself. My mother is very sad today, and wishes that she could be there. I know she is there in spirit. She loved your husband so much too. He was so wonderful! He will be truly missed, but remembered in the beauty of those left behind. Keep him alive by always talking about him with friends and family and he won't be very far away. Our prayers are with you now and always. If you ever get to the San Diego area again, I know my mother would love to see you.Scott and Robin Grossman Shade, Eve Shades oldest daughter Elk Grove, CA US
