Jerome L. Snyder's Obituary
Jerome L. “Jerry” Snyder, 75, of Champaign formerly of Decatur died Thursday July 23, 2009 in Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday July 28, 2009 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Davis officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the DAV.
Jerry was born on June 21, 1934 in Decatur, IL the son of Robert Wright and Grace Walker Snyder. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force for 20 years. He also worked as a clerk for the Wabash Railroad. He was a member of the DAV and the AFA and a he was a Vietnam veteran. He married Irene Brenner on December 1, 1956 in London England. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; sons, Guy Snyder Kathleen of Mahomet; Robert SnyderPatricia of Climax, NC; mother Grace Snyder of House Springs, MO; brother, Edwin Snyder of Oreana; sister Patricia Williams Michael of House Springs, MO; grandchildren Amber Snyder of Decatur; Justin Snyder of North Carolina; great-grandson, Michael Baker of Decatur; step-grandchildren, Jessica York Stephen of Monticello; Emily Gomolchek Brian of Bloomington; Mary Lymann of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandson, Seth Snyder, two brothers, Robert Snyder and Harry Snyder.
