Jerome "Jerry" W. Frank's Obituary
Decatur – Jerome “Jerry” W. Frank, 89, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born April 7, 1927 in Decatur, the son of William P. and Persephone J. (Leoucis) Frank. A Navy Veteran of WWII and die hard Cub fan, Jerry was the co-owner of Eastside Market where he enjoyed working as a meat cutter. He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where he served as past-president of the church council. He was also a member of Golden K and SCORE. Jerry married Christine W. Mentis July 28, 1957 and she preceded him in death September 7, 1988. He later married Marilyn L. Wrigley May 25, 2002 and she preceded him in death November 30, 2010. Also preceding him in death are his parents, grandparents, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Surviving are his daughter, Penny Frank of Decatur, and son, Bill (Juliet) Frank of Milwaukee, WI; step-daughters: Patti Wrigley of Decatur, Cathy (Marvin) Hunt of Lawrence, KS, and Mary (John) Corley of Decatur; step-sons:, Tim Wrigley of Danville, Tom (Connie) Wrigley, Jim (Vicki) Wrigley, Dan (Teresa) Wrigley, Ken (Mary Jo) Wrigley all of Decatur, and Brian (Julie) Wrigley of Mt. Zion; brother, Peter W. Frank of Decatur; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Also surviving is his faithful canine companion, Cubby.
Funeral services to celebrate Jerry’s life will be 11 am Thursday, June 30, 2016, in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; Trisagion prayer at 7 pm. Burial will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 570 N.
