Jerri Lynn Smith's Obituary
Jerri Lynn Smith, 42, of Decatur, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, vigil prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery. Memorials to: St. Teresa Building Fund or American Cancer Society.
Jerri was born on August 18, 1961 in La Harpe Illinois, the daughter of David and Alice Cox Pence. She was a homemaker, a 1979 graduate of La Harpe High School and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Jerri was very active in her church and school activities. She was a playground supervisor and past co-president of the parent/teachers group at Holy Family School. Jerri was big fan of Holy Family and St. Teresa athletics. She married Jeff Smith on June 7, 1986 in Macomb Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Jeff; children: Jennifer, Carley and Ryan Smith all of Decatur; parents: David and Alice Pence of La Harpe; brother: Ed Pence, wife Stacey of La Harpe; sister: Nancy Vogler, husband Scott of Colchester, Illinois; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Jim and Avis Smith of Lovington; step-grandmother, Eunice Cox of La Harpe; eleven nieces and nephews; and many-many friends.
Jerri was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother Tim Pence.
The family would like to thank Lucy Good, Carol Pearson, and all the parishioners at Holy Family for embracing them through this most difficult time. They would also like to thank Dr. Esparaz for taking them under his wing and providing outstanding care and guidance to Jerri and her entire family for the past eleven years.
