Jerry English's Obituary
Decatur-Jerry Lee English (85) passed peacefully May 13th at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 18 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe Ave, Decatur. Visitation from 12-1 PM with service to follow. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur.
Jerry was born June 1, 1935 in Detroit, MI. Son of Gerald and Hazel (Athey) English. He married Betty June Hart on November 7, 1954 in Decatur.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeri (Jack) Coleman of Thonotosassa, FL and Leanne (x.Bryan) Atteberry of Decatur; four grandchildren, Jesse Coleman, James Coleman, Josiah Coleman of FL; Christopher (Holly) Guy of Decatur. Three great-granddaughters, Kaylee Coleman, Julie Coleman and Jamie Coleman of Fl. Sister Vicki (d. Bob) Gentry of Villa Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (June), three brothers-in-laws and two sisters-in-laws.
Jerry spent many years as a loving husband and father. He was always kind, understanding, and caring to his family. He loved camping, fishing and waterskiing. His daughters loved and cherished him all his life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and CNA's who so lovingly cared for him in his final moments.
