Jerry Lee Ferguson's Obituary
Jerry Lee Ferguson, 79, of Decatur, passed away September 4, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Jerry was born in Jenkins, Kentucky on December 7, 1941, the son of Euralee and Beulah (Presley) Ferguson. He served proudly in the Navy and Air Force. He earned an Associate’s degree in nursing and then spent many years working as a mechanic and machine operator. He married Carol Kinney on December 28, 1963. Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially on the many mini-vacations they took together. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and creating artwork.
Jerry is survived by his wife Carol; children Brien (Tammy) Ferguson of Decatur, Matthew (Sue) Ferguson of Decatur, Wendy (Aaron) Zindars of Harristown, and Jeremy Ferguson of Mt. Zion; grandchildren Codie Ferguson, Crystal Ferguson, Dalton Zindars, Cheyenne Ferguson, Heather Ferguson, and Hunter Ferguson; and great-grandchildren Christopher, Braylin, Autumn, Brenden, Bella, Kinzlee, Brooklyn, Rylee, and Jaxyn. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
