Jerry Lee Fyke's Obituary
Jerry Lee Fyke, 73, of Argenta, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born August 28, 1945, in Decatur, IL to Oval Richard and Ruby Mae (Proffitt) Fyke. He married Gabriele “Gabi” Potts.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gabriele; two children, Lisa (Billy) Kimmel of Columbus, GA and Jerry “Hooper” Fyke, Jr. of Cisco, IL; five grandchildren, Sheldon Kimmel, Cason Kimmel, Bella Kimmel, Halee Fyke and Gabe Fyke; one brother, Gary Lynn (Brenda) Fyke of Decatur, IL and one sister, Judy (John) Campbell of Decatur, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his two furry felines, Woody and Buzzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donny, Danny and Frank Fyke.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Hima Atluri and her staff, Dr. Evelena Ontiveros and her staff at the Cancer Care Center, the staff on the 4th and 5th floors, Dr. Venkat Minnaganti, Chaplain Susan Liu and Chef Jerry and his dietary staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
