Jimmy O. Mitchell's Obituary
Jimmy O. Mitchell, 81, of Pana, formerly of Kingman, AZ. And Decatur, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, in the Danville V.A. Hospital.
Jimmy was born October 21, 1925, in Decatur, the son of James and Beulah Olroyd Mitchell. Jimmy was a U.S. Navy Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and a retired over the road truck driver. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pana, 32 degree Mason and Teamsters Local #710. Jimmy married Phyllis Kay Gardner on September 1, 1959.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis of Pana; children: Debra Dave Gesser of Shelbyville, Eric Echo Arnold of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, James Mitchell of Moweaqua, and Bryan Mitchell of Pana; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings.
Memorial services will be 2 pm Saturday, September 1, 2007, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later date in the Danville National Cemetery.
