Jinnie Morris' Obituary
Jinnie Morris, 101 of Decatur transitioned from earth to Glory on August 30, 2010 surrounded by family and friends.
Jinnie was born on July 4, 1909 in Leland, MS the daughter of Tom and Mittie Campbell. She moved to Cairo, IL in1942. She confessed the hope in Christ at age 12. She was a member of First Baptist Church from1942 until 2007 when she moved to Decatur. She loved singing. She sang in the choir and with the “These are They Singers” for many years. She was a member of three church Aid Societies and loved Sunday school. She united with the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Lloyd Jackson Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Betty Bondurant and Jessie Lucas both of Decatur; Bernice Dean of Chicago; step-daughter, Helen; adopted daughter, Wilma Jones of Carbondale; 17 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren; special cousin, John Ellerbey of Maywood; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husband, one son, two daughters, four brothers, and five sisters.

Homegoing Service Celebrating Jinnie’s life will be 12 noon Saturday September 4, 2010 in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1060 West Division, and Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
The family of Jinnie Morris has entrusted the care of their loved one to Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation service, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur.
