Jo Ann Dickerson's Obituary
Decatur- Jo Ann Dickerson, 83, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jo Ann was born September 8, 1931 in Decatur, IL, Illinois, the daughter of Moses and Edna (Gerk) Nickey. Jo Ann was a flag car driver for many years. She also was a member of the Four Square Church. She enjoyed crafts, and loved animals.
Jo Ann’s first union of marriage was with Delmar Foster, surviving are daughters Tarryle Wright of Clinton, and son Randall (Sally) Foster of Decatur. The second union of marriage was with John H. Gubbins, surviving are sons John D. Gubbins of Harristown, William (Barbi) Gubbins of Decatur, and daughter Kathi (Billy) Wiggins of Decatur. Third union of marriage was with Wayne Dickerson. Also surviving are her sister Joyce (David) Hopkins of San Diego, CA, sister-in-law Norma Nickey of San Diego, CA, sixteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Robert Gubbins, Kenneth Foster, brothers Moses Nickey, and James Nickey.
Services to celebrate Jo Ann’s life will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from one hour prior to services. Burial will be in West Frantz Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Parkinson’s Research.
