Joan K. Crownover's Obituary
Joan K. Crownover, 63, of Niantic passed away on Monday November 14, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 10 am Saturday November 19, 2005 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be Friday evening from 5-8 pm. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery in Rural Warrensburg. Memorials are suggested to be given in Joan’s name to either American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Joan was born in Decatur on October 25, 1942 the daughter of Willis and Therese Janvrin Stutes. She was a homemaker for her family all of her married life. She married Paul Crownover on December 17, 1985 in Decatur, he survives.
Also surviving include her children; son, Joey Logue of Decatur; daughters, Kelly Friend and husband Joe of Argenta; Shawnette Tussing and husband Gary of Oreana, five step-daughters, four grandchildren; Tiffany Friend, Tyler Friend, Shelby Jo Tussing and Kristopher Tussing; fourteen step-grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie Stutes of Decatur, two sisters; Joan’s Twin Sister, Jane Williams of Decatur and Dixie Johnson and husband Lee also of Decatur. Ten nieces and three nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George Chaney, and one sister, Shirley Woods.
The family of Joan would like to send out a special thank you to Dr. Mario Velasco and staff, 5100 Unit Nursing Staff at DMH, Dr. Carmen Muresan and Staff for all the loving compassionate care given to Joan during her illness.
