Joan Pirtle's Obituary
Joan Pirtle, 85, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, in her home.
Joan was born October 6, 1935, in Decatur, to William Truman and Cecelia (Mikulus) Cox. She was a member of Second Church of God. Joan’s number one priority was always her family. She enjoyed spending time with all her grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids. When not spending time with her family, she would slip away and play those slot machines.
She is survived by her three children, Deborah Sue (Steve) Denny, Billie Lee (Elaine) Pirtle, Jr. and John Truman (Diana) Pirtle, Sr.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and as she always called him her cohort in crime and nephew, Jim Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Ray Pirtle; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joan Pirtle will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Second Church of God 2670 E Division St, Decatur, IL 62526 or plant a tree or bush in memory of Joan.
