Joanne A. Leyden's Obituary
Joanne A. Leyden, 81, of Decatur, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family.
Joanne was born May 28, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to John and Genevieve (Kletcher) Mihatovic. She married Charles J. Leyden on August 4, 1956 in Westmont, IL. He passed away February 17, 2018. Joanne was a member of St. Patrick Church and she volunteered with Catholic Charities.
She is survived by her four children, Jeffrey Charles (Jennifer) Leyden, Decatur, IL, John Joseph (Jennifer) Leyden, Madison, WI, Julie Miller of Decatur, IL and Jennifer (Bill) Godfrey of Decatur, IL; eight grandchildren, Megan, Sam, Jayne, Scott, David, Austin, Matthew and Alyssa; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Rachel Miller; her brother and her sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at St. Patrick Church with Father John Burnette, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
