John Robert Aydt's Obituary
Mt. Zion – John Robert Aydt, Jr., 91, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Zion, IL.
John was born December 12, 1922 in Piopolis, IL, the son of John Robert and Mary Madeline (Zachman) Aydt, Sr. He worked for many years in the maintenance department for Decatur School District #61. John was a Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Catholic Church. He married Dolores C. Aydt on March 25, 1946.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one great grandson, one brother and one sister.
Surviving is his wife Dolores of Mt. Zion; children: Patricia (Roger) Wall, Mark (Vicki) Aydt and Bonita Aydt all of Decatur; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral liturgy to celebrate his life will be 12 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard; visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church.
