BATCHELOR OBITUARY
John L. Batchelor, 69, of Decatur went to be with his Lord on Saturday July 02, 2005 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Homegoing services will be 11 am Friday in Greater Northside Baptist Church, where Pastor Jimmie D. Waddell will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. John was born on November 06, 1935, in Brownsville, TN, the son of John Alex and Ella Newbin Batchelor. He worked as a steel inspector for Wagoner Castings for over 34 years. He was a member of Greater Northside Baptist Church. He married Annie Outlaw in Corinth, Mississippi on November 27, 1958.
John leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories his loving wife, Annie of Decatur; his loving children; Calvin Outlaw and wife Shirley of Kansas City, MO; Edward Batchelor of Decatur, Samuel Batchelor of Cape Girardeau, MO, Mary Stone and Carolyn Cole and husband Pete all of Decatur; grandchildren, Brandis Outlaw,, Tretez Cole, Travis Cole and Samuel Batchelor, Jr; special cousin, Ella Mae Clark of Decatur and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and one son- Timothy Lee Batchelor.
The family of John would like to thank the staff and Drs. of Cancer Care Specialist of Decatur, the Staff of Saint Mary’s Hospital and the Staff of Saint John’s Hospice. Special thanks to his caregivers: Michelle Killion, Rachel Dear, Levonnie Murphy and Lenita Moore.
