John Ansel Beneze, Sr.'s Obituary
John Ansel Beneze, Sr., 82, of Mt. Zion, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
John was born December 5, 1927, in Decatur, the son of Eugene and Tessie Haddock Beneze. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and retired truck driver, John was a member of Mt. Zion Assembly Of God Church, and VFW. He married Frances Anna Knapp March 5, 1948 and she preceded him in death on August 3, 1993.
He is survived by his children: Margaret Mel Moore of Piper City, Rebecka Mike Songer of Cerro Gordo, Joan Joe Royer of Hudson, CO, John Robin Beneze, Jr. of Filmore, Martha Michael Degutis of Champaign; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; brothers: David and Phillip; sister, Esther McCloy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Frances and six sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until the service time at 11 am Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Interment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be made to DMH Hospice, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses and aides and the staff at Heritage Manor where he spent the last 15 months.
